Lives in Portland Oregon And Want's Be part of the Club We should see Him at The meeting   There This Sunday He is 34   and have Always been interested in Dimes for quite some time. He was looking at regular 510's but finally decided on a wagon as not a lot of people have them. It has the basic L16 with a 4 speed. I want to go up to either a 6cyl Z engine or a V6 with a 5 speed. Future plans might include turning it into a 2 door panel delivery. I'm looking forward to meeting other dimers

More info on the Owners of This Z

Hi Guys, Lets see, I bought the Z-car about a year ago from a guy in Seattle for a grand, was looking for something to tinker with and I had a Z-car years ago a 75 model, loved the car from day one and wished I hadn't sold it from day one.  The one I now have is a  5-speed AC  that actually works, and from what I understand that combo is rare. I've been doing a little bit at a time as I can afford. Want to remove the front bumper and  buy a front airdam, lower it, needs repainted, I've already done alot of interior work, needs new rugs. Haven't made up my mind if I'm going to hot rod the motor in it or do the V8 thing, which would be over all cheaper to work on. Want to play with the kid and their little Hondas. I do all my own work, have tinkered with cars for years, have to, can't afford shop labor, and love to see the results of what I have done.

I have had my toy for just a little over a year, paid a grand for it have been adding my special touches to it as I can afford. Here is a pic of it while I was replacing the struts. I live in Hermiston and this is my second Z.

Well here goes.
I bought the car new from Mall 205 Nissan dealer in Portland in June 1996, only had 13 miles on odometer. I bought it because I was moving to New Mexico & was starting a new job which required a lot of driving. The first year I had the car I put over 60k miles on it. (loved every minute of it) I used to cruise along at 105mph on some of the back roads between Alamogordo & Socorro,N.M. Mechanically the car has been great with the exception of the problem of the brake rotors warping, had to have them turned 3 times then replaced.( forget the mileage, maybe 120/130k miles) Also had to replace some belts & the battery. At 170k miles while on a trip to Portland the timing chain broke and caused havoc under the hood! Had to have the entire engine replaced, too much damage to just repair. Replaced it with a used engine guaranteed to have less than 50k miles, had the work done at Gresham Nissan. While they were doing this I also had them replace the clutch. Just had the pads replaced , the rotors turned again & the power steering pump replaced, as you know.
The only draw back to owning a little RED Sport scar is the attention
it draws from the Highway Patrol! Of course the fact that I have a lead foot doesn't help either. Since owning the car I've gotten 8 tickets. On one of my trips in New Mexico I almost got 2 in one day!

My 1980 720 king cab was purchased at an auction for $60. was missing front clip, steering linkage and steering  wheel. I have been working on this truck for the last year. so far I have put in a low mileage L20B (most of the old one was missing), new steering linkage, a dash from an 82 donor truck, new brake system, new front clip, new shocks, tires were flat and dry rotted so I got 4 free tires from work. exhaust  system is missing, soon as weather is good enough to replace slave cylinder I will take it to work and build a custom exhaust system . it is also lowered 2 inches. (want to go 2 more inches) have allot of things planned...ill keep you updated.............

1977 280Z 2+2

Engine:  83 block (f54) and a P79 head.

Transmission: 3 Automatic

I originally heard about this Z about 4 years ago down on the coast at my
place of employment.  A fellow employee had a 1977 280Z 2+2 (well it
actually was his wife's) that was back at his place in pilot rock, and that
she had bought the car some time ago 13+ years as far as I can document.
During the temporary move to the coast, it had blown the fusible links
during a jump start and there it sat.  He wasn't willing to sell then, and
needless to say, 4 years of asking has paid off and the car is mine. Now
that my employer has relocated me to eastern Oregon, getting the Z in my
possession was the easy part.  Sitting for so long has taken its toll on the
cars fuel system though.  The interior is in near perfect shape.  No cracks,
tears or other weather damage has occurred.  The only wear is the seats and
sun faded carpet, which will be replaced in January 04', and some minor rust
issues (hey it is a Z!).  Doing some searching on the internet had lead me
to Ron Koenig, pres of EODO. He had introduced me to a local mechanic in
the Hermiston area well experienced in datsuns, and the task of trouble
shooting the fuel system is complete!  Cant wait to get my car on the road
and performing some extensive restoration.  The car has 90k original miles
and 38K on a 83zx motor.  Future plans include finishing the interior, koni
adjustable, 17" aluminum rims and a body kit, topped off with new silver
paint, though I will wait for warmer weather to do the body work and paint.
I hope to make 250hp from the 2.8l and convert it to a 5 speed w/rear disk
brakes so I can enter scca vintage racing with my brother in-law.  Stay tuned
for more updates!  This is not my first datsun/Nissan though, my last project was a 95' Nissan pickup (Below) but had to make room for other projects.
Needless to say, I am stoked to have another datsun.  A special thanks to
Ron and Bruce!  Jeremy

The red car a 1971was sitting in a field and the owner was going to cherish it because he just put a new motor in the car and it had a "knock " the shut the car off and couldn't get started again  so i took the car and got it started (wiring) it had a noise so i pulled the head off and found a nut in the #4 hole it hit every thing but the vavles drove it home I found this car while working out of town left it at the job site and worked on it during breaks with minimal tools.

then there is my first 510 a 71 2dr it was going to the crusher and i found it and saved its life the only rust is in the back frount corner what a pretty smile the front of the car has some big guy leaned on my car gave ne a front fender dent winter tires are still on the red 510. i would eat off of this motor Clean isn't it ? i love this car i polished it all inside yes it has dual exhaust cool rear view
